Utrustningen till drinken
Från bartendern

Spanish in origin — the name comes from soldiers fortifying their coffee — but it is Mexico that made it a national habit, almost always with Licor 43. Brandy or dark rum is the older Spanish build and gives a drier, less perfumed drink.

Barraquito
Sweetened Condensed Milk

Barraquito

Vanilla, warm milk and caramel at the top, then espresso bitterness, then a thick sweet base — every sip tastes different depending on how far down the glass you have got.

Sombrero
Coffee Liqueur

Sombrero

Cold cream first, then bitter-sweet coffee and molasses underneath, the two arriving separately until you stir and it becomes a single soft, roasted thing.

Caffè Corretto
Fresh Espresso

Caffè Corretto

Hot bitter espresso with a spike of grape spirit burning through the middle of it, the heat carrying the grappa's fruit straight up into the nose.

Toasted Almond
Amaretto

Toasted Almond

Almond and stone-fruit sweetness first, then a bitter roasted edge underneath, the cream binding the two into something that genuinely tastes toasted.
