Privacy Policy
We built My Bar Shelf to be useful, not intrusive. We collect only what we need to run the app and the website, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.
1. Who We Are
My Bar Shelf is operated by Nisshagen Advisory AB (Org.nr 559526-6742), a company registered in Stockholm, Sweden. We are the data controller for personal data collected through the My Bar Shelf iOS app and the mybarshelf.com website.

This policy covers both the app and the website unless a section says otherwise.

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate, anonymous traffic measurement (page views, referrers, country-level location). It is cookieless, does not track individuals across sessions or sites, and does not build user profiles. The website uses no other tracking pixels or non-essential cookies. If we add any, we will update this policy before they take effect.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases as defined by GDPR:
- Contract — processing your email and app data is necessary to provide the service you signed up for
- Consent — anonymous analytics are only collected if you explicitly opted in at account creation
- Legitimate interests — basic security logging and error monitoring to keep the app functioning reliably
4. Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate My Bar Shelf:
- Supabase — database and authentication, hosted in the EU
- Mixpanel — anonymous usage analytics, EU data residency, only if you consented
- Sentry — error monitoring, EU data residency
- Google Gemini — AI processing for label scanning and cocktail search. Images sent for scanning are not stored by us.
- Vercel — website hosting and cookieless aggregate analytics for the marketing site
We do not sell your data to any third party, and none of our partners use your data for advertising purposes.
5. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data — including your inventory, check-ins, recipes, and bookmarks — is permanently deleted within 30 days.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a user in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — delete your account and all associated data directly from within the app, or by contacting us
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent — you can change your analytics preference by contacting us

7. Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Profile screen inside the app. This immediately removes all your personal data from our systems. No need to contact us.
8. Children
My Bar Shelf is an app about alcoholic beverages and is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you within the app and ask you to review the updated policy before continuing to use My Bar Shelf. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly.
