    Pour in the Canadian whisky.

    Top with cold lemon-lime soda.

    Stir once, gently, to combine without killing the carbonation.

    Garnish with a lemon wedge.

The name is a brand joke: Seagram's Seven Crown and 7 Up. It dominated American bars from the 1970s through the 1990s and is worth knowing as the baseline every other whisky highball is measured against. A fresh lemon wedge, squeezed in, improves it more than a better whisky would.
