Fill a rocks glass with ice cubes.
Pour 45ml Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey over the ice.
Add 45ml amaretto.
Stir briefly for 5–8 seconds to combine and chill.
Serve immediately with no garnish.
Equal parts is the classic ratio, but dialling back the amaretto to 30ml against 45ml whiskey keeps the sweetness in check and lets the Tennessee whiskey's charcoal-mellowed character lead. A rocks glass is preferred over a Collins glass - this drink deserves to be savoured slowly, not stretched.
