Born on Bourbon Street and built for the heat, the Hurricane is New Orleans' most iconic party drink - a full-throttle blend of aged and dark rums driven through a storm of citrus and tropical fruit.

From the Bartender

The Hurricane was invented by Pat O'Brien in 1940s New Orleans as a way to offload surplus rum - distributors required bars to buy cases of it before they could order more popular spirits. The signature Hurricane glass was named after the lamp-shaped vessel it was originally served in.
