Pull a fresh espresso shot and allow it to cool slightly.
Add vodka, coffee liqueur, simple syrup, and espresso into a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and a thick foam develops.
Double-strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with three coffee beans arranged in the center of the foam.
The key to a proper crema on an Espresso Martini is using freshly pulled espresso - cold brew or pre-made coffee will not produce the signature frothy foam. Shake harder and longer than you think necessary; the emulsification of coffee oils is what creates that luxurious top layer.
