Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
Pour 50ml of white rum over the ice.
Squeeze 10ml of fresh lime juice directly into the glass.
Top with 120ml of cola, pouring gently down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
Give a brief, gentle stir to combine.
Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and serve immediately.
Authenticity matters here - always use fresh lime juice rather than lime cordial, and squeeze the lime wedge directly into the glass before dropping it in to release the aromatic oils from the peel.
