Singapore Sling

The Singapore Sling was created around 1915 by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon at the Raffles Hotel Long Bar in Singapore.

Ingredients
Gin30 ml
Cherry Heering15 ml
Cointreau7.5 ml
DOM Bénédictine7.5 ml
Fresh Pineapple Juice120 ml
Fresh Lime Juice15 ml
Grenadine Syrup10 ml
Angostura Bitters2 dashes
Pineapple Wedge
Maraschino Cherry
Glassware
Hurricane glass
Chilled.
Method

    Add gin, cherry liqueur, triple sec, Bénédictine, pineapple juice, lime juice, grenadine, and Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes.

    Shake well for 10–12 seconds until well chilled.

    Strain into a Hurricane glass filled with fresh ice.

    Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry on the rim.

The Singapore Sling was created around 1915 by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon at the Raffles Hotel Long Bar in Singapore. The original recipe was lost for decades, and the current widely accepted version was reconstructed from a handwritten note found in the bar's archives.
