Chill a coupe glass.
Combine the Scotch, ruby port and dry vermouth in a mixing glass.
Add two dashes of Angostura bitters.
Add ice and stir for 25 seconds until well chilled.
Strain into the chilled coupe and express a lemon twist over the surface.
A pre-Prohibition Scotch cocktail that has never quite had its revival. Ruby port rather than tawny keeps the fruit fresh; tawny makes it nuttier and heavier, which is a legitimate variation for deep winter.
My Bar Shelf reads your shelf and shows you every cocktail you can make from what you already own, including Chancellor.
