Amaretto Sunrise

The key to a clean gradient is patience - pour the grenadine slowly over the back of a bar spoon held just above the surface of the juice, letting its higher sugar density carry it naturally to the bottom.

Maraschino Cherry
Glassware
Collins Glass
Chilled.
Method
  1. 1

Fill a Collins glass with ice.

  2. 2

Pour 30ml of amaretto over the ice.

  3. 3

Add 120ml of orange juice and stir gently to combine.

  4. 4

Slowly pour 15ml of grenadine down the inside edge of the glass or over the back of a spoon - do not stir. Allow it to sink to the bottom to create the sunrise gradient effect.

From the Bartender
