Chill a cocktail glass.
Combine the kirsch, dry vermouth and strawberry syrup in a mixing glass.
Add ice and stir for 20–25 seconds until well chilled.
Strain into the chilled glass.
Garnish with a fresh strawberry or a cherry.
Created by Johnny Mitta at the Chatham Hotel in Paris in the early 1920s and later adopted onto the IBA Unforgettables list. It is vermouth-led rather than spirit-led, which makes it one of the gentlest cocktails on the official list.
