Pre-chill an Old-Fashioned glass and prepare an orange slice wheel for garnish. Pour Sweet Vermouth, Red Bitter Liqueur, and Prosecco into the ice-filled glass. Briefly stir. Garnish with the orange slice wheel.
The Negroni Sbagliato, meaning 'bungled' or 'mistaken' in Italian, was created in the late 1980s by Mirko Stocchetti at Bar Basso in Milan. He famously, or perhaps mistakenly, used sparkling wine instead of gin when making a Negroni. While often made with Prosecco today, the original and traditional recipe at Bar Basso calls for spumante.
