The addition of chocolate bitters is the Left Hand's defining twist - it bridges the gap between bourbon's vanilla-oak character and the bitter herbal notes of the red liqueur, creating a cohesion that neither a Negroni nor a Manhattan achieves on its own.

Ingredients
Bourbon Whiskey45 ml
Red Bitter Liqueur (e.g. Campari or Strucchi)22.5 ml
Sweet Vermouth (e.g. Carpano Antica Formula)22.5 ml
Chocolate Bitters (e.g. Bob's Chocolate Bitters)
Maraschino Cherry (e.g. Luxardo)
Glassware
Coupe Glass
Chilled.
Method

    Add bourbon, red bitter liqueur, sweet vermouth, and chocolate bitters to a mixing glass.

    Fill with ice and stir for approximately 30 seconds until well chilled and diluted.

    Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass.

    Garnish with a skewered maraschino cherry.
