From the Bartender

A Buck is any spirit with citrus and ginger — the Mamie Taylor and the Moscow Mule are both Bucks wearing better names. Irish whiskey's lack of aggression is the point here: use ginger ale rather than ginger beer or the spirit disappears entirely.

Mamie Taylor
Blended Scotch Whisky

Mamie Taylor

Ginger heat over smoke and cereal, lime keeping the whole thing tight, and a dry, spicy finish that is more grown-up than any Mule.

Horsefeather
Rye Whiskey

Horsefeather

Ginger heat and rye pepper arriving at the same time, with the lemon keeping it tight and the Angostura adding a clove-and-bark note across the top.

Presbyterian
Bourbon Whiskey

Presbyterian

Half the sweetness of a whiskey-ginger with all of the spice, the soda thinning it into something genuinely refreshing rather than merely mixed.

Cablegram
Bourbon Whiskey

Cablegram

Lemon and sugar around a soft bourbon centre, then dry ginger stretching it out — a sour that keeps going instead of finishing in three sips.
