From the Bartender

A pre-Prohibition American highball named for the transatlantic telegram. It is the missing link between the Whiskey Sour and the modern whiskey-ginger, and the short shake before the ginger goes in is what makes it taste like neither.

Presbyterian

Half the sweetness of a whiskey-ginger with all of the spice, the soda thinning it into something genuinely refreshing rather than merely mixed.

Stone Fence
Bourbon Whiskey

Stone Fence

Tart pressed apple over corn sweetness and oak, the bitters adding a spiced edge that stops it drinking like a soft drink with whiskey in it.

Horsefeather
Rye Whiskey

Horsefeather

Ginger heat and rye pepper arriving at the same time, with the lemon keeping it tight and the Angostura adding a clove-and-bark note across the top.

Irish Buck
Irish Whiskey

Irish Buck

Soft orchard fruit and light grain from the whiskey with lime doing most of the structural work, the ginger ale sweeter and gentler than ginger beer would be.
