Gin & Tonic

The Gin & Tonic was popularised by British officers in colonial India who mixed quinine tonic - taken to ward off malaria - with gin to make it more palatable.

Ingredients
Gin50 ml
Tonic Water150 ml
Lime Wedge
Glassware
Highball glass
Chilled.
Method
  1. 1

    Fill a highball glass generously with ice cubes.

    Pour 50ml of gin over the ice.

  3. 3

    Top with 150ml of chilled tonic water, pouring slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.

    Squeeze a lime wedge over the drink, then drop it in or place it on the rim as a garnish.

    Give one gentle stir to combine and serve immediately.
