Salt half the rim of a coupe glass and chill it.
Combine the blanco tequila, Cointreau, espresso, lime juice and agave syrup in a shaker.
Add ice and shake hard for 12–15 seconds until a thick foam forms.
Double-strain into the prepared coupe.
Float three coffee beans on the foam.
A 2020s menu drink rather than a historic one, and one of the few Espresso Martini spin-offs that improves on the idea. Cool the espresso before it goes in the shaker or the ice melts too fast and the drink comes out thin.
