Pre-chill a coupe glass.
Prepare a lemon zest twist and set aside.
Combine blended Scotch whisky, Irish whiskey, orgeat syrup, fresh lemon juice, egg white, and saline solution in a shaker without ice.
DRY SHAKE vigorously for 10–15 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
Add ice and SHAKE again for a further 10–15 seconds until well chilled.
FINE STRAIN into the chilled coupe glass.
EXPRESS the lemon zest twist over the surface of the drink to release its oils, then drape it on the rim as garnish.
Cameron's Kick is a Harry MacElhone creation from the early 1920s, first published in his seminal 'ABC of Mixing Cocktails.' The unusual pairing of Scotch and Irish whisky - rivals on paper - is precisely what gives this drink its character; the peat of the Scotch and the smoothness of the Irish whiskey complement rather than compete.
My Bar Shelf reads your shelf and shows you every cocktail you can make from what you already own, including Cameron's Kick.
