Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
Pour 45ml of dark rum over the ice.
Cut a lime wedge, rub the cut edge around the rim of the glass, then squeeze the juice directly into the glass.
Top with 120ml of Coca-Cola, pouring slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
Gently stir once to combine.
Garnish with a fresh lime slice on the rim and serve immediately.
The lime is non-negotiable - its acidity cuts through the sweetness of the cola and elevates the rum's complexity. Rubbing the cut lime around the rim before squeezing adds an aromatic citrus note to every sip.
